He is mentioned in season two of the 2022 Netflix TV series Wednesday.
Biography
Background
Grandpa Frump courted and married Hester at some point during or after her time at Nevermore Academy. She craved a family, and her blind devotion led her to fall for him, a man Rosaline Rotwood called a "huckster". The Frumps had two psychic daughters together, a Dove named Morticia and a Raven named Ophelia. At some point, Hester rebuffed family and her powers and built a successful mortuary business. It is unknown what became of Grandpa Frump.
Season Two
Wednesday asks Hester for help in regaining her psychic abilities, hoping a fellow Raven can provide assistance. Hester no longer uses her powers, having made the choice to leave emotions behind and not be burdened by family. She advises her granddaughter to visit Rosaline Rotwood's grave at Nevermore to gain temporary sight. Rosaline, however, remembers Hester as a desperate psychic with minimal potential, whose desperation for a family which made her fall 'head over heels' for her husband.
